About Cosgrove Physiotherapy

Cosgroves Physiotherapy Centre has been established for over 20 years. We pride ourselves on our ability to treat many physical conditions that have proved difficult to treat using a standard physiotherapy approach. We use a varied array of soft-tissue and manipulative techniques, along with acupuncture to treat muscular and skeletal problems. We have an extensively equipped gym, built alongside our clinic which allows us to develop rehabilitation programs for patients to return to normal activities in the shortest possible time.

Services

Cosgroves Physiotherapy Centre offers a diverse range of treatments carefully planned to suit the patients individual needs. What makes Cosgroves different from other practices in the area is our 'one stop approach'. Not only do we carry out treatments under the supervision of one of the countries leading physiotherapists, but we have a fully equipped rehabilitation gymnasium, red light and UVA treatment areas. We also have qualified nutritionists and sports
rehabilitators also on site to cover all the patients needs.

John Ramsay, Charlotte MacGill and Tom Shaw, alongside their degree qualifications have all trained
under Stuart in all aspects of physiotherapy and together, we all make a formidable team! We work hard as a team on continuous professional development, holding regular seminars together to keep us at the forefront of knowledge.

Physiotherapy & Prevention

At Cosgroves we pride ourselves on our 'Hands On' approach. We utilise many treatment modalities and combine an Eastern/Western methodology. We find marrying acupuncture techniques with manipulative techniques works best.
We also combine American osteopathic active release with European myofascial release techniques to treat soft tissues such as muscle, ligament and tendons. We treat all types of musculoskeletal problems from everyday sprains to top level athletic injuries.

Personal Training

Our therapists are all trained in sports rehabilitation, strength and conditioning and as such are trained to a higher level than most personal trainers. When patients have fully rehabilitated from their injury, some of them want to take this further and progress their strength and fitness to a higher level. This option is available to them at Cosgroves with a wealth of experience on hand from former British and World Champions.

Red Light Therapy

When you consider the old Infra Red lamps we used to use for our aching backs, they were only useful to a degree. They didn't penetrate into deep tissues and to get any decent level of radiation you had to practically burn yourself!! These lamps emitted infra red and visible red light over a large band of wavelengths so it was always difficult to get enough of the BENEFICIAL wavelengths of light.
